North Dakota recognizes Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 e-bikes. The state-specific age and helmet rules are: The current North Dakota Century Code does not set a statewide Class 3 operator minimum age. Older amendment text included an age rule, but the current codified section does not. A Class 3 operator or passenger who is under 18 must wear a helmet. North Dakota does not impose that Class 3 helmet rule on riders age 18 or older.
